Two Hand Controls
This category includes safety systems that require the operator to use constant, concurrent two-hand control to activate a machine used in the fabricating process. An operator’s hands are required to remain in a safe location on the control mechanisms and at a safe distance from the danger area while the machine finishes its closing cycle. The operator’s hands remain free to pick up new workpieces after the completion of the machine’s first cycle, however. Two-hand controls can only be used with machines using a partial cycle with a brake and anti-repeat feature.
