A new family of PEM® floating self-clinching fasteners has been introduced for permanent installation into thin stainless steel sheets. The fasteners can be specified either with non-locking or locking threads and will permit up to .030 in/0.76 mm total adjustment for mating hole misalignment.

TVU-IR THREAD VERIFICATION UNIT
New Vista Corporation has developed a Thread Verification Unit for use in automatic toolchanging machining centers. The TVU-IR resides in a CNC’s toolchanger, and is automatically deployed like any other tool. The TVU-IR automatically checks for the presence, size, and depth of internal or external threads.
NEW GRADES FOR TURNING OF EXOTIC MATERIALS
Featuring a Super ZX multi-layered coating, the new grades AC510U and AC520U from Sumitomo Electric Carbide, Inc. are perfect for roughing, finishing, and medium cut machining of super alloy materials. The Super ZX Coating consists of ultra-thin layers of TiAlN and AlCrN, alternately stacked up to 1,000 layers. As a result, higher speed capabilities and greater wear resistance are achieved.
