DENIOS US offers the broadest family of containment barriers to protect buildings and their contents from damaging floods while protecting against catastrophic spills and sprinkler releases. New manually operated versions are ideal for warehouse environments, while pop-up barriers that automatically engage at the first flow of liquid are installed worldwide for many diverse applications. Flood barriers are well suited for low-lying areas and others that are prone to flooding. Spill barriers are ideal for facilities in sensitive areas where a sprinkler discharge or material spill could result in expensive cleanup costs and potential EPA fines. With a diverse range of sizes and types available, DENIOS provides the industry’s most comprehensive range of barriers to protect against floods and spills in all manufacturing and commercial environments.

Pop-Up Designs Protect Automatically

These unique FM-approved pop-up designs are fully automatic and require no external power or compressed air supply. They are constructed of solid welded stainless steel for chemical resistance and long service life. The self-contained one-piece design is factory-adjusted, lubricated, and easily installed in existing doorways. When not in use, barriers are stored horizontally on the floor, permitting normal vehicular traffic. NFPA, IFC, and OSHA approve DENIOS US Pop-Up Flood and Spill Barriers. Built to order in Louisville, KY, and proven in thousands of installations worldwide, they are ideal for use anywhere that flooding is a concern or where spill or sprinkler discharge containment is possible.

How it Works

When not deployed, the Pop-Up Barrier stores flat on the floor, so there is no need for berms or ramps.  When a liquid flow reaches the barrier, it is collected in the sump that houses the barrier wall. As the volume of liquid increases, it displaces the wall from its horizontal position. The built-in mechanism then brings the barrier to its full locked and upright position, containing or holding back the impending liquid. This lightning-fast response to a spill or flooding event can save time and money on cleanup operations. After the event, Pop-Up Barriers can be easily reset and reused.

Spill Barriers: Essential for Spill Containment and Sprinkler Discharge Management

Federal and local regulations mandate that sprinkler water mixed with regulated or hazardous materials must not be allowed to enter sewers, streams, or soil, which could lead to severe environmental contamination. In the event of a release, the associated fines and cleanup costs can be substantial. Pop-up spill barriers are critical for containing such spills within the facility, allowing for effective management and mitigation.

These barriers are custom-built to fit doorways and come in various sizes, ranging from 3 to 16 feet wide and with heights of 12, 18, or 24 inches. Their robust construction supports vehicular traffic of up to 6.5 tons of axle weight when not in use. Eliminate Insurance Claims from Flood Damage

Over 80% of flood damage is caused by less than 15 inches of water. FM-approved (FM Approvals Class 2510 2012) Pop-Up Barriers offer automatic protection for lower-level building access points and facility modifications. Their flexible design allows for the installation of both inside and outside exterior doors. Available in widths up to 20 feet and heights of 12, 18, or 24 inches, these barriers remain flat when not in use and can support vehicular traffic up to 6.5 tons of axle weight. Manually Operated Versions Available

The newest addition to the DENIOS family of spill and flood barriers, manual containment barriers allow the practical and cost-effective retention of polluting fluids. They are ideal for warehouses and areas with few pedestrian or vehicle doors to protect, and indoors without excessive pedestrian or vehicular traffic, the barriers can remain horizontal and avoid possible leaks.  Various styles and sizes of manual spill control barriers are available, including manual insertable, pivoting, loading dock barriers, and step-ramp style barriers.
