Swiss tooling company REGO-FIX, inventor of the standard-setting ER collet, has partnered with Indianapolis-based Ed Carpenter Racing (ECR) to supply premium tool holding solutions for the IndyCar Series team’s machine shop.

For its precision machining operations, ECR will use REGO-FIX’s world-renowned ER collets and other related accessories, the powRgripÒ tool holding system and Multi Line products that boost the accuracy of traditional-style tooling. ECR will use these productivity-enhancing solutions on its two new Hurco CNC machines – a TM10Mi lathe with live tooling capability and a high-speed, 5-axis VMX42HSRTi mill.

“REGO-FIX has a long history of innovation and dedication to detail that is necessary to deliver truly premium tool holding systems our customers have come to trust for reliability and precision,” said Bill Obras, REGO-FIX general manager, Americas. “We’re proud to partner with an organization like ECR that is equally dedicated to excellence and has established itself admirably in a very competitive environment.”

Just as racing requires a relentless pursuit of perfection, REGO-FIX continually looks for ways to produce the very best in Swiss precision products that the manufacturing industry has come to know and expect. The company constantly evaluates its processes and is committed to achieving excellence that empowers its customers to excel.

Tim Broyles, President of Ed Carpenter Racing, said, “We are excited to form this partnership with REGO-FIX. Speed, precision and reliability are key in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES, and the REGO-FIX system meets all our needs. We know we can rely on REGO-FIX for the accuracy and repeatability required in our fast-paced industry.”

ECR has been a mainstay and perennial front runner for 13 seasons in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES, America’s preeminent open-wheel racing series. Featuring auto racing’s crown jewel, the Indianapolis 500, the series runs an 18-race schedule that crosses the country from St. Petersburg, Florida, to Portland, Oregon.

ECR put three cars on the grid for this year’s 108th running of the Indianapolis 500. Following one of the greatest comeback stories in recent history, Rinus VeeKay overcame an accident in his first qualifying run to earn the 7th starting position, rolled off from the inside of Row 3 and finished 9th. Ed Carpenter, an Indianapolis native and hometown favorite, completed his 21st Indianapolis 500, starting 17th and finishing 17th. Christian Rasmussen, part of the 2024 Indianapolis 500 rookie class, made his debut at the 24th position and became the highest finishing rookie finishing 12th. The 23-year-old from Copenhagen, Denmark, joined ECR on the heels of his 2023 Indy NXT championship.

Carpenter is the only individual in the 33-car field who handles both the responsibility of driving the racecar while owning and operating his own team. Even now as he competes exclusively on ovals, he has 24 top-ten finishes since starting his own team. He is the 10th driver in history to win three or more pole positions for the Indianapolis 500, earning back-to-back top starting positions in 2013 and 2014, followed by another in 2018.
