CERATIZIT, Part of the Plansee Group, announced that Dan Cope has been promoted to President of the Americas for CERATIZIT Group. He joined the company in 2019 as Executive Vice-President of Cutting Tools, CERATIZIT USA. The promotion is a direct result of Cope’s successful sustainable growth plan implemented for the U.S. cutting tools division. His new responsibilities include additional business units within the Americas including Hard Materials Solutions, Round Tool Blanks, Preforms, and Private Label.
“One of CERATIZIT’s key advantages globally is the full ownership of the carbide supply chain, from the ore to the finished tool,” explains Cope. “This supply chain ownership truly sets us apart in our industry. With a focus on the Americas market, I’m proud to continue the growth journey for our Cutting Tools division, as well as the high performing Round Tool Blanks, Preforms, and Private Label divisions. And the potential of the Hard Materials Solutions division, especially for wood and stone and wear parts, is truly exciting, particularly in the U.S.”
In addition to broadening his business sector responsibilities, Cope’s geographic purview has also expanded. While continuing his stewardship in the U.S. market, he is now charged with driving positive results in Canada, Mexico and Brazil.
With more than 30 years of experience in the manufacturing industry, Cope has developed a deep understanding of the challenges faced by customers, the importance of fostering strong relationships and the loyalty earned by delivering exceptional results. His passion for understanding customer needs, combined with his extensive industry knowledge, has made him a trusted advisor and sought-after partner for customers and employees looking to achieve sustainable growth. Cope will draw on his rich expertise and global experience to spearhead strategic initiatives that exceed business targets throughout the Americas.
“I led a people-focused, five-year growth plan for our U.S. cutting tools division and saw customers across all industries benefit from the value our team and tools bring to manufacturing,” explains Cope. “Extending the same customer-centric intensity to all divisions and all customers in North America and Brazil is my top priority.”
Cope assumed the responsibilities of his new role this month, has visits to facilities in Mexico scheduled and is finalizing plans to meet with teams in Canada and Brazil.
