Donaldson Co., Inc., (Minneapolis, MN) a leading worldwide manufacturer of innovative filtration products and solutions, has released the Torit® Fume Hood that provides fabricators with additional fume extraction capabilities.

“Demand for skilled welding is expected to grow over the coming decade,” said Asa Bowen, product specialist at Donaldson. “Welding operations are expanding, and along with it, the need for flexible workflows and safe workplaces.” Designed for robotic or manual welding applications, the Torit Fume Hood’s low-profile allows for a more flexible installation than traditional canopy-style hoods. When paired with the optional weld curtains, it can be sized to reduce airflow requirements, ultimately lowering the overall cost of a dust collection system.

The Torit Fume Hood can be easily integrated with an existing system or paired with a Donaldson cartridge collector for enhanced filtration. It also comes in multiple sizes and is available in free-standing and ceiling-mounted configurations for better integration into facility workflows.

The new FILTAIR 215 fume extraction system from Miller provides welders with a versatile and compliant workspace solution.

Miller Electric Manufacturing, LLC (Appleton, WI), a leading worldwide manufacturer of Miller brand arc welding equipment, has added the FILTAIR® 215 system to its fume extraction lineup. The FILTAIR 215 provides welders with a versatile and compliant workspace solution.

The system is an industrial, high-vacuum fume extraction unit that can handle multiple fume guns, making it a versatile option for welding professionals. The system features a self-cleaning filter mechanism and an optional auto start/stop function that extends filter life and minimizes maintenance-related downtime.

Ideal for fabrication and manufacturing environments where versatility is needed, the FILTAIR 215 system maximizes flow capacity for multiple operators to use extraction attachments, such as nozzles and fume guns, for multi-weld fume capture at the source. The system was designed for durability and convenience, with storage handles that allow operators to store a dual wire feeder and fume extraction guns/hoses, creating a more efficient workspace.

New Inline Spark Arrestor Product Offers Unbeatable Spark Arrestance

RoboVent, (Sterling Heights, Mi), part of the Nederman family of companies, is a leader in industrial dust collection and air filtration. RoboVent has launched the new Delta3™ Inline Spark Arrestor. Built to last from heavy-gauge steel with all-welded construction, the product offers unbeatable spark arrestance with exceptionally low pressure drop for energy savings.

In head-to-head testing against industry leaders, the Delta3 Inline offered the best overall combination of spark control and efficiency. “The Delta3 Inline Spark Arrestor allowed zero sparks through ductwork at all tested airspeeds and tied for the lowest pressure drop among all tested technologies, which helps to reduce the energy required for operation and improves filter life,” said Alysha Yinger, director of engineering, RoboVent. “It was designed for versatility, durability and performance.”

Delta3 Inline can be used with a variety of dust collectors on the market, including RoboVent’s new flagship dust collector, Senturion. It can be placed at the inlet of the dust collector (or other types of equipment) or in line with ductwork for the dust collection, ventilation or HVAC system.

Spark arrestors keep sparks out of the ductwork and/or dust collector filter chamber. These systems should be used whenever sparks are present near the inlet of the dust collection system. Spark-producing processes include welding, cutting/laser cutting, grinding/filing, abrasive blasting/wheel blasting and others.

“With any product development, we go straight to the source to learn about pain points, so we create solutions that deliver results,” said Frank Cea, director of marketing and development, RoboVent. “Customers who use the product will experience superior spark arrestance without sacrificing energy savings. Our customers want products that prevent fires and explosions, help keep their workers safe, while providing easy installation, maintenance and energy savings — these were all focal points for the new Delta3 design.”
