Wintriss Controls Group: Recap of FABTECH 2023

Wintriss Controls Group had a successful FABTECH show from September 11-14, 2023 in Chicago, where it received tremendous interest from attendees about the latest, advanced features in its SmartPAC PRO Press Automation Controller and ShopFloorConnect® OEE and Data Collection Software. For a connection to a smarter factory, including when remote monitoring is required, the latest functionality in SmartPAC PRO and ShopFloorConnect gives fabricators and metal formers efficient and easy-to-use tools. Top-of-mind for attendees that visited the Wintriss booth included custom press control solutions, die protection capabilities, and software to make their operations more productive.

Of notable interest were several new SmartPAC PRO features including the world’s most advanced Programmable Limit Switch, new ProCamPAC PRO, as well as several new Cam Output features such as a new Toggle Cam Output that performs an asymmetrical toggle function, turning an output off or on for different stroke amounts and a new On/ Off Counter Cam Output that precisely controls functions that need to operate at a preset interval instead of on every machine cycle. Attendees also reviewed the new Advanced DiProPAC, which boasts over ten new capabilities for even greater die protection for presses.

Another topic of interest was the Wintriss smart factory solution via its ShopFloorConnect® OEE and Data Collection Software. ShopFloorConnect® collects downtime and production efficiency data from every machine, ranging from CNC machines to presses, fabricating machines, and more in all areas of discrete manufacturing. Attendees were interested in ShopFloorConnect®’s ability to optimize workflows, reduce downtime, and maximize production by enabling real-time data collection, management, and analysis.

Wintriss Product Manager Jim Finnerty gave two educational presentations at the FABTECH Conference Sessions including one on Die Protection and the other about Automatic Data Collection from Any Machine for a Smarter Factory. Both presentations were well attended, with many of the attendees visiting the Wintriss booth afterwards to inquire on attending a Wintriss Die Protection Clinic, metal forming industry’s premier source for die protection and in-die sensing information and training.
