In booth 5350, the REGO-FIX reCool® retrofittable coolant-through system and the company’s powRgrip tool holders will take center stage during EASTEC 2023. Both hugely popular in the manufacturing industry, reCool cost-effectively converts existing flood-cooled driven tools on turning machines to through-tool-coolant capable in as little as two minutes, while the powRgrip high-precision tool holding system generates extremely high clamping forces equal to or higher than shrink-fit holders.
REGO-FIX developed its innovative reCool® system as an alternative to expensive, high-maintenance through-coolant-dedicated live tooling heads. The reCool system gets coolant to the cutting edge much more effectively than spray piping or nozzles, easily removing heat from the cutting zone and contributing to better surface finishes, longer tool life, improved chip control and increased productivity. Any standard ER collet works with the reCool system, which accommodates collet sizes from ER 16 through ER 40 while handling maximum cutting speeds of 12,000 rpm and delivering coolant pressures up to 2,000 psi.
EASTEC show attendees will experience how the safe, precise and cost-effective powRgrip system, which includes a holder, collet and mounting unit, generates six tons of force. The system relies on the interference between holder and collet to generate its clamping force.
Unlike other clamping systems where heat or hydraulics are used to expand the material, the powRgrip uses the mechanical properties of the holder material to generate tremendous gripping force with run-out below 0.0001”. Interchangeable collets are available from 1/8″ up to 1″, including metric sizes, and will hold both carbide and HSS tools.
Designed for easy operation and use, the powRgrip system takes less than 10 seconds to press in a tool or remove it from the holder. Because no heat is used, tools can be used immediately after a tool change. Cycle testing exceeded over 20,000 insertions and removals, outperforming other systems on the market.
