Pneumatic Belt Sanders Deliver Fast, Smooth Finish
Ingersoll Rand Inc. (Davidson, NC) has released two new small and lightweight surface preparation tools, the Ingersoll Rand® 360-313 and 360-418 Pneumatic Belt Sanders. The sanders help technicians remove stubborn material and create a smooth finish. Using class-leading 0.6 horsepower motors that are 20% faster than the competing products, the sanders power through long days of sanding, deburring, and removing spot welds, among other applications.
“These versatile sanders are lightweight with a highly ergonomic design that require no additional tools to change the belts or adjust the articulating arm,” said Jennifer Travis, product manager of Surface Preparation and Construction Tools and Accessories at Ingersoll Rand.
The sanders have an adjustable four-position power regulator that technicians set to match the toughness of the material, from heavy weld removal to fine finishing. The tool-free articulating arms feature cam-locks to adjust the angle of the arm within a 270-degree range to reach tight areas such as rivets or welds.

Pneumatic Hand Chamfering Tool Removes Burrs Easily, Creates Uniform Edges
KBC Tools & Machinery’s (Sterling Heights, MI) Pneumatic Hand Chamfering Tool takes the edge off or creates an intentional edge on a variety of materials, including ferrous and non-ferrous metals with speed and repeatability at a fraction of the cost of production chamfering equipment. For proper material preparation the tool allows you to remove burrs easily and quickly to create a uniform edge with repeatable accuracy up to almost 1 mm depth, prepare metal for welding jobs and clean them up after, and a host of other needs. The bearing runs along the edge of the surface while two carbide inserts chamfer the edge for smooth results.

The 2” x 72” Dual Station Variable Speed Belt Grinder from Palmgren (Naperville, IL) delivers enhanced grinding and finishing productivity, all in one machine. The belt grinder features two belt heads ensuring the ultimate flexibility to handle platen grinding, contact wheel grinding and even slack back grinding. Its design enables roughing to intermediate grinding to blending as well as final finishing and polishing. It offers the convenience of grinding belts that can be easily changed in seconds without tools thanks to Palmgren’s single handle quick release system. For optimum use, the belt arms can tilt from 0-to-90° to quickly change between grinding applications.
