In Booth B35054 Saint-Gobain Abrasives (Worcester, MA), one of the world’s largest abrasives manufacturers, will feature its wide breadth of industry leading Norton abrasive products for right angle grinding, including for the most complex and challenging applications.

Focusing on eight key metal fabrication application processes — cutting, heavy-duty grinding, stock removal, blending/refining, deburring, surface preparation/cleaning, finishing and polishing, Norton application engineers will be available to discuss customer application requirements. To simplify the proper selection of abrasives for varying process steps, applications and materials, a new comprehensive 24-page Abrasives Product Guide for Right Angle Grinding will be offered.
Also, to be highlighted are abrasives solutions for key industries such as oil/ gas, energy and transportation, as well as the Norton specialties line, which consists of square pads, cross pads, overlapped slotted discs, bore polishers, cartridge rolls, spiral bands, cross buffs, non-woven stars and more.
In addition, a new Abrasives Process Solutions program featuring a highly advanced robotic cell for optimizing customer grinding applications will be presented at the show.
Some of the latest Norton abrasives include:
- New: Norton BlazeX F980 Fiber Discs with premium ceramic alumina micro-fracturing grain are ideal for a wide range of grinding processes in stainless steel and harder-to-grind materials. New proprietary COOL FRICTION technology dissipates heat during the grind, reducing rework and extending the life of Norton BlazeX F980 Fiber Discs. The discs are the latest addition to the BlazeX “Best Tier” portfolio, which also includes BlazeX F970 Fiber and Quick-Change Discs for carbon steel and soft-to-grind materials.
- Newly Upgraded Norton BlueFire Abrasives include the Norton lines of belts, cloth quick-change and flap discs, and mini flap discs. Featuring a new, proprietary self-sharpening zirconia alumina grain shape and chemistry, and an upgraded resin bond for faster cut rates and durability, the new BlueFire abrasive products provide exceptional performance on a wide range of materials in light to heavy-pressure applications. An improved, heavy-duty polyester backing is designed for long life and will withstand challenging applications.
- New: Norton Rapid Polish Depressed Center and Quick-Change Discs offer a felt wool polishing pad for a high shine finish which can be used with or without polishing compound.
- Norton QUANTUM3™ (NQ3) Cut-Off, Combo and Depressed Center Grinding Wheels feature 100 percent advanced ceramic alumina grain with a special shape for comfort and performance.
- Norton Rapid Prep™ XHD Coarse and Medium Discs solve the most aggressive stock removal and blending challenges. The extra heavy-duty non-woven discs remove weld lines, weld splatter, weld discoloration and blend surfaces in a single step.
