In his time at SCHUNK, Gaunce has broadened his knowledge and skill set to include all forms of workholding devices in the manufacturing industry.

The opportunity to travel the country and visit various manufacturing facilities in all sectors of industry provided Gaunce with a unique insight into the true value of good workholding and efficient change-over between tooling. In his time at SCHUNK, he moved from sales support engineer to group manager of stationary workholding, in which he led a team of application engineers and worked on broader market initiatives that gave him deeper insights into general market trends in manufacturing.

In recent years, Gaunce has focused on helping customers with the automation of machine tools, as the practice becomes more widely adopted by all industries and a wide variety of companies, large and small.

“Michael has shown tremendous growth and has developed strong leadership skills in his time here at SCHUNK,” said Milton Guerry, president of SCHUNK USA (Morrisville, NC). “With his focus on customer success, his dedication to the manufacturing industry, and his passion for driving company and team culture, Michael is a natural fit to lead our tooling and workholding teams.”

“The innovation in the toolholding and workholding world is exciting,” Gaunce said, “and I am proud to work closely with my colleagues to help our customers find success and grow the SCHUNK brand in this space. I look forward to this next step and contributing to the continued effort of developing close relationships with our channel and distribution partners.”
