ESCO’s New COHOG® Features a Unique Split-Frame Clamshell Made from 7075 Aluminum

The company’s new COHOG SPLIT-FRAME CLAMSHELL MACHINE for parting and beveling pipe features a new module cutting blade system with double-edged insert bits, and is available for sale or rent and manufactured in the USA. ESCO Tool will be in Booth B37012.

For decades, ESCO Tool has manufactured rugged, reliable and simple to operate tube and pipe fabrication equipment known to the industry as MILLHOG. Years of working closely with end users, has led to the development of split frame machines that hold true to our name. The COHOG split frame eliminates the complication associated with traditional OD mounted tube and pipe fabrication machines while setting a new standard for lasting performance.

COHOG machines feature indexable tool slides and trip mechanisms that use a marked locating system to precisely align and quickly attach without shims or guesswork. A variety of blade modules easily attach to the tool slides and hold conventional high-speed tool steel blades or cutting inserts.

At the COHOGs core is its unique frame made from 7075 aluminum and rotating ring, machined from a steel forging, heat-treated, and nickel-plated for corrosion and wear resistance. Self-squaring clamps quickly align and rigidly secure the machine enabling it to part and bevel heavy wall pipe, in one operation, without vibration or chatter.
