Kaast Machine Tools to Present Wide Range of Fabrication Equipment at Fabtech 2021
Kaast Machine Tools Inc. (Aldan, PA) will display a number of fabrication machines in Booth A-4521.
Posted: July 2, 2021
The booth will feature
- a PS 85 DP 90-ton ironworker,
- a DMVH 305 VS knee mill with independent vertical and horizontal spindles,
- an RBD-3M 10/3 3′ plate roller,
- an HPA-P 100/40 100t × 40″ simple press brake,
- an HBS 230 DG 9″ dual mitering band saw, and
- a PBH 80 angle roller strong enough to bend 1.75″ square tubing to a 20″ diameter.
The PS 85 DP ironworker is a multi-purpose machine with 90 tons of pressure and five workstations for punching, shearing, and notching.
The DP lineup features two separate hydraulic pistons each controlled by an independent foot pedal, allowing two operators to work the punch and another station simultaneously. Piston stroke can be adjusted according to the thickness of the material that’s being cut.
An improved automatic back gauge is included standard with all machines to assist in the shearing of round and square bar or tube stock. This back gauge also allows for automatic feed shearing, with an included limit switch to activate the shear too. An adjustable rear stop is included with the angle bar and flat bar shearing stations.
The DMVH 305 VS knee mill combines the traditional vertical turret on knee mills with an independent #40 taper 5 hp horizontal spindle. Offering infinitely variable speed control, these machines feature quiet operation with V-belt drive, a swivel range left and right ±45°, and rotation of the upper arm around the column 360°.
These machines are Taiwanese Bridgeport style mills. They have box ways on the Y-axis and column, semi-guarding (full guarding available), and 3-axis digital readout. Also, they are made with meehanite cast iron that’s annealed and stress-released, providing high rigidity and wear resistance.
Also, all guideways are coated with Turcite B and the XYZ slideways, table, and T-slots are hardened and ground.
The RBD-3M is a plate roll series designed for light to medium jobs, accommodating materials up to 0.25″ in thickness. Applications include creating aluminum bendings, air conditioning channels, advertising panels and sheet metal covers. This series of plate rolls is offered in 3′ – 6′ lengths and features top rolls fixed via a locking lever, with adjustable side and bottom rolls. Each model includes wire grooves on the bottom rolls and left-right rotation on the dual footswitch.
The HPA-P is a small, hydraulic press brake. The HPA-Ps are high-quality machines and a cost-effective solution for small bending jobs and prototyping. The HPA-P presses offer 100, 150, or 200 tons of working pressure, providing steady smooth operation with manual and two-handed working controls at a much lower price point than their CNC cousins. The one-step pressure adjustment and one-step stroke adjustment simplify what can be a daunting task.
The HBS 230 DG semi-automatic, dual-mitering, horizontal bandsaw offers 9″ of capacity, a coolant system, a quick-action vice, and infinitely variable speed and down feed control. The hydromechanical blade tensioning system makes easy work of blade changes, and the included 4′ feed roller conveyor holds longer materials during processing. The machine tool includes a 2 hp gearbox drive and easy set miter selection.
The PBH 80 features 1) three driven rolls and two hydraulically adjustable bottom rollers, 2) vertical and horizontal operation capabilities, and 3) standard modular dies suitable for bending square, flat and angle iron. Custom dies for rounded or other unique profiles are available, too. Also included is a digital display of two axes and mechanical guide rollers adjustable in three axes. These tools can bend 1.75″ square bar as tight as 20″.
Kaast Machine Tools Inc. offers a variety of machine tools, from mills and lathes to grinders and saws and from brakes and rolls to presses and ironworkers.
