Lucifer Furnaces Inc. (Warrington, PA) was contacted by the U.S. manufacturer because it needed to precisely heat its parts so they could be annealed before milling.

In response, Lucifer provided a small box furnace able to reach 2,300°F. The Model HL7-A12 has a 6″ × 6″ × 12″ chamber that’s insulated with a combined 5″ hot face insulating firebrick and cold face mineral wool backup.

The controls include a Honeywell digital time proportioning temperature controller and a TP1 soak timer that starts when the furnace reaches setpoint temperature, then shuts off the elements at the end of the heating cycle. The furnace also has a door safety switch. When the furnace door is opened, the switch automatically disengages power to the elements.

Built with the same quality as larger models, the box furnace includes a cast hearth plate for protecting floor insulation and coiled heating elements in cast assemblies for easy replacement.

The furnace is part of Lucifer’s standard, general purpose Series 7000 box furnaces. This furnace line can be used by companies that want to bring heat treating in-house to gain control over workflow and product quality.

Lucifer manufactures industrial heat-treating furnaces and ovens.
