Kays Engineering Offers New Reaming Machine for Low-Volume Manufacturers
Kays Engineering has introduced the Eldorado M75-48-R1 reaming machine for lower-volume gun barrel manufacturers.

Kays Engineering Inc. (Marshall, MO) manufactures machines for deep hole drilling. For example, its standard DeHoff reaming machine is a two-spindle machine with automated barrel loading and automated tool handling.
In contrast, its new Eldorado reaming machine has only a single spindle and requires manual loading of the barrels and reamer tooling. This design makes the Eldorado M75-48-R1 smaller and less expensive, so it’s well suited for lower-volume gun barrel manufacturers.
The Eldorado machine has a maximum reaming diameter of 0.75″ (19 mm) and a maximum barrel length of 36″ (914 mm). The machine features hardened steel box ways and hand-scraped spindle housings (versus linear guide ways and milled surfaces). This results in superior vibration damping, extended tool life, and improved surface finish.
