FANUC America Corp. (Rochester Hills, MI) has added a new model to its series of 4-axis SCARA robots. The series includes the SR-3iA, SR-6iA, and SR-12iA models and the new SR-20iA model.

Each model’s payload capacity and reach are:

  • SR-3iA: 3 kg and 400 mm,
  • SR-6iA: 6 kg and 650 mm,
  • SR-12iA: 12 kg and 900 mm, and
  • SR-20iA: 20 kg and 1,100 mm.

FANUC also offers two 3-axis models, the SR-3iA/H and the SR-6iA/H. These variants provide strong performance and an affordable alternative to small linear slide products.

The SR-3iA and SR-6iA have compact footprints and space-saving designs for maximum efficiency.

The higher-payload SR-12iA and SR-20iA provide flexibility with a large vertical stroke. For harsh conditions, they have environmental options, including white epoxy coating, bellow covers, anti-rust bolts and seals, and IP65 rating to withstand dust and liquids.

“Our SCARA robots are designed to help customers increase productivity in a number of industries, including consumer electronics, auto components, plastics, food and beverage, lab automation, appliances, and medical device manufacturing,” said Eric Potter, director of FANUC’s general industry and automotive engineering segments.

Powered by the R-30iB Compact Plus controller, the SCARA robots have the same intelligence and reliability available on all FANUC robots, including integrated vision (iRVision®), conveyor tracking (iRPickTool), and most other software options. The Web-based iRProgrammer user interface allows for intuitive and easy robot setup and programming on a PC or tablet. A teach pendant is optional.
