The punch and die grinder (PDG) from rotary surface grinder manufacturer DCM Tech Inc. (Winona, MN) is a turnkey package with auto-feed control, 6-inch-diameter self-dressing CBN straight wheel for high material removal rates and a high-quality finish, through-spindle coolant and universal fixturing with interchangeable 3-jaw chuck and optional permanent magnet that accepts Amada, Trumpf, Salvagnini, Finnpower, Weideman, Whitney, and other tooling.
Featuring an 18-inch rotary table and 5 hp spindle motor, the machine lowers replacement tooling costs up to 40% and minimizes or eliminates deburring operations. In addition to sharpening turret press and ironworker tooling, rooftop punches, and progressive dies, the machine can be used to grind carbide tooling, regrind carbide pump seals and die sets, and debur stripper plates. Sharpen large station dies and rooftop/shear angle tooling up to 10 degrees with the standard fixturing package. Typical grind time is less than 5 minutes.
