The Turbo 16 square shoulder cutter from Seco Tools (Troy, MI) is suitable for a applications ranging from facing, slotting and shouldering to plunging and ramping across a wide range of workpiece materials. The Turbo’s modified design improves ramping capability, and the insert pocket angles have been optimized to enhance cutting performance and surface finish. High helix angle provides a smoother exit and entry into the workpiece and more efficiently evacuates chips.
Lower cutting forces lower noise levels and power consumption and can boost tool life by up to 130%. The exceptionally close pitch on selected milling cutters increases material removal rates by up to 50%.
Made of corrosion-resistant tool steel, the cutter bodies have internal coolant channels at every size and are compatible with a wide range of interfaces and standard rotating holders. A comprehensive choice of ground-edge and direct-pressed inserts in four geometries provide flexibility.
Built for the future of manufacturing, Turbo 16 inserts are the company’s first products to feature data matrix tags. The scannable codes store product and batch information, and can be read by the Seco Assistant smartphone app.
