The TeleStar Plus through-the-lens (TTL) laser from Optical Gauging Products (OGP) (Rochester, NY) is coaxial with system optics, allowing use over the full range of XYZ travel. Available on the company’s Fusion, SmartScope Quest, and SmartScope SP systems, the interferometric sensor with built-in reference source measures surfaces ranging from diffuse light-scattering to translucent.

Through-the-lens operation means there’s no offset between the optical and laser sensors. The small spot-size and very long working distance (68 mm) enable the laser to measure deep inside recessed features that aren’t accessible by other means. The on-axis, non-triangulation sensor is perfect for scanning surfaces that are adjacent to other features, such as the bottoms of slots or trenches.

Options on the Quest platform, in particular the 0.5x and 0.45x objective, expand working distance to130 mm and 200 mm, respectively, with minimal degradation in accuracy.
