The updated vProbe tactile sensor from Automated Precision Inc. (API) (Rockville, MD) is integrated with API’s Radian laser tracker series to enhance the capabilities and functionalities of traditional laser trackers. The wireless tactile probe with easy-hold grip allows users to perform extended coordinate measuring functions on the shop floor by inspecting intricate internal and external features or part characteristics.
The vProbe offers more versatility than a portable arm coordinate measuring machine (CMM), greater accuracy, and consistent measurements. RFID probe stylus-recognition feature eliminates need to manually select the probe stylus, removing potential for error.
Smart Buttons improve the user experience by minimizing trips to the computer to select common functions that are now integrated in the probe. Dynamic tactile scanning capability provides instant coordinate feedback. Integrated battery provides six hours of measurement activity. Styli lengths up to 500mm with a variety of tip sizes can be accommodated.
