Weld Systems Integrators Inc. (Warrensville Heights, OH) next-generation 12,000-joule (12kJ) capacitive discharge (CD) welders are ideal for projection welding fasteners with standard or ring-type projections to hot-stamped aluminum silicate (AlSi)-coated materials, galvanized and other coated materials.
Integrated design includes fast follow-up head and an active displacement system for graphing displacement (specific distance of the weld projections collapse vs. weld time) for every weld. An inline transducer measures actual weld force in real time. These features maintain the reliable, consistent results required by rigid OEM specifications.
The welder’s 18-inch-minimum throat depth provides more space for robotic end effectors, fastener feeders, and other automation options. Standard “T” slot platens accommodate universal tooling concepts ranging from basic to dedicated parts fixtures.
The series includes single- and multiple-head welders that can all be configured to use a single power supply. Multiple-head welders allow for a different application to be welded on each head, reducing capital investment and floor space. Multiple-head welders may also be configured with several power supplies for high-speed applications.
WSI uses a domestically sourced mated transformer and power supply that are engineered to work together for superior performance. This eliminates delays in parts and repairs, enhancing serviceability and maximizing uptime.
