Multisensor Vision System Provides Larger Field of View (FOV)

Starrett’s AVR-FOV 0.14X has a 0.14 magnification lens. When combined with “superimage” technology that stitches images together and a touch probe, operators on the shop floor see more of each part, no matter how complex, they inspect.

The interface on Starrett’s AVR-FOV 0.14X multisensor vision system is intuitive enough that operators on the shop floor can quickly create and run inspection programs on a wide range of parts. For greater efficiency and accuracy, more of the part can be viewed in every image.

Customers can measure and inspect a wider range of parts, including those that are complex with intricate features, with the AVR-FOV 0.14X multisensor vision system from The L.S. Starrett Co. (Athol, MA). At 2.36 inches by 1.9 inches (60 mm x 48 mm), its magnification lens features the largest field of view (FOV) in the AVR Series.

“Superimage” technology stitches images together to form one larger image. Automated part programs deliver micron-level results with go/no-go tolerance zones. Data is provided in one easy-to-interpret report. These features allow metrology users in manufacturing facilities and quality labs to quickly produce accurate and repeatable results.

A traditional mouse as well as a touchscreen monitor make interacting with MetLogix’s intuitive M3 control software easy and intuitive. Part recognition enables operator to create a measurement program that can automatically be saved in the system or to a network. Light output options can be built into the program as defined steps. Once the program is created, placing that part within the camera’s FOV initiates inspection. A Renishaw touch probe may be used to acquire discreet points along a part’s profile as well as Z-axis measurements.

The AVR-FOV 0.14X has an X-Y-Z travel of 12 inches by 8 inches by 8 inches (300mm x 200mm x 200mm).
