Available in soft or hard jaws and full-grip jaws for virtually any chuck manufacturer, Dillon Manufacturing Inc. Dillon also offers Carbinite, a wear-resistant textured carbide coating that reduces or eliminates slippage to enhance mill performance and reduce cycle times. Ideal for hard or soft jaws, especially vise jaws and step jaws used for clamping applications, in tests the coating nearly doubled gripping strength at equal clamping force and customers report longer tool life. The coating is added via a process called electrospark deposition (ESD) after jaws are milled to customer requirements. The coating displays exceptional bond strength without annealing or distortion.
