Reformulated Grinding Wheel Lasts Almost 50% Longer
The entire working section of Rex-Cut Abrasives’ Aluminator grinding wheel can be used without sacrificing productivity or finish. Its cotton fiber breaks down to continually expose new grit, providing consistent metal removal for the wheel’s entire life.

The reformulated Aluminator wheel from Rex-Cut Abrasives (Fall River, MA) grinds 2.2 times more aluminum weld per minute compared to the original version and outlasts it by 46%. The Type 27 wheel grinds and blends aluminum without clogging or loading with very low vibration for smooth operator control and Ra 200 surface finish.
Unlike other grinding wheels geared for aluminum, the wheel’s entire working section can be used without sacrificing productivity or finish. The cotton fiber breaks down as heat is generated, resulting in constant sharp grit being exposed to the workpiece, eliminating loading and the need for wax or grinding aids.
The wheel is available in ¼-inch-thick version for additional life as well as its original thickness. Available in 4.5-, 5-, 6-, and 7-inch diameters in 36 grit.
