Hitachi High-Tech Analytical Science (Oxford, UK) introduces SpArcfire, an operating software already available across the company’s stationary spark optical emission spectrometer (OES) range, to its mobile OES analyzer range. Optimized for touchscreens, the interface greatly improves the user experience, maximizing speed and efficiency for both simple and complex metals analysis tasks and eliminating the need for extensive training or highly experienced operators.
Hitachi OES spectrometers can be easily deployed to measure unknown materials, identify and verify grades, create customizable report templates, and perform and evaluate accuracy tests with control samples. The software also verifies instrument status, providing real-time monitoring and diagnostics on parameters such as temperature, pressure and voltage inputs and outputs so equipment can be kept at peak operating performance.
Additional features also make analysis quicker and easier:
・ Wizards take the user step by step through non-routine operations
・ Online help and tooltips provide direct assistance
・ Programmable event calendar enables scheduling of regular tasks such as maintenance and control sample runs
・ Drag-and-drop features enables creation of customizable reports and certificates.
Advanced users can edit and modify regression data to extend calibration ranges. The Sensor Scan application future-proofs the instrument and allows it to deliver additional qualitative analysis.
