The SHDD Series from Sunnen Products Co. (St. Louis, MO) can use multiple tooling types to achieve tight diameter control, straightness, and superior surface finish in a variety of workpieces and materials from aluminum to super-alloys. The heavy-duty deep-hole drill’s controls with open platform communications united architecture (OPCUA) remote process monitoring enable operators to reliably, accurately, and efficiently achieve manufacturing tolerances and production requirements.
Internal diameter bore ranges range from 0.8-inch to 5 inches (19 to 127 mm) for drilling and up to 7 inches when counterboring and trepanning. Outside diameters reach 20 inches (508 mm).
Maximum part length for the SHD-2500D is 78.7 inches (2,000 mm).
Maximum part length for the SHD-4500D is 157.5 inches (4,000 mm).
Maximum part length for the SHD-6500D is 236 inches (6,000 mm).
