Igus (Providence, RI) offers a ready-to-connect linear 7th axis for Universal Robots (UR) UR3, UR5 and UR10 robots as well as Robolink DP and DCi robots via its Drylin ZLW toothed belt linear actuator. The kits include an adapter plate, switch cabinet with cables, motor controller, and software solution.

For UR robots, Igus supplies a UR-CAP as a direct integration solution that includes all necessary electrical modules so the robot can be installed and put to work in minutes. On Robolink’s robots, the 7th axis is controlled by Igus robot control software.

The lubrication-free linear axis reaches almost 20 feet (6 meters) and offers positioning accuracy of 0.02 inches (0.5 mm).

Users can configure a desired length to the millimeter online at https://www.igus.com/info/7th-axis-for-universal-robots.
