Versatile and easily configured to accommodate a variety of fabrication needs and footprint requirements, HGG Profiling Equipment’s (Houston, TX) UPC 450 universal profiler increases cutting and prefabrication productivity by eliminating the need to cut profiles and spools by hand. The company’s production automation combines stiffener cutting, 3D profile cutting with optional tube cutting in the first affordably priced machine of its kind. One person can quickly and easily convert the universal profiler from cutting profiles to cutting tubes.
The universal profiler offers full process cutting integration through HGG’s ProCAM software suite, integrating thermal cutting via ProCAD design, ProGRAM work preparation coordination, and the company’s 3D plasma cutting intelligence. The end result is precision stiffener and tubular spool cutting that reduces fitting and welding time, which in turn saves labor costs.
The machine’s small footprint belies a wide range of capabilities. The UPC 450 makes it easy to load material on a cutting table and then quickly cut it within the cutting cell, cutting profiles from flat bars, bulbs, and angles as well as cutting spools from tubular pipes. Two fume extraction modules capture and dispose of plasma dust, smoke, and fumes.
