Upgraded Monitoring Software Connects Multiple Brands

Heidenhain’s StateMonitor 1.3.0 software connects CNC control and PC systems, enabling manufacturers to remotely monitor equipment performance in real-time regardless of brand without having to access the cloud.

Posted: September 29, 2020

Heidenhain’s StateMonitor gives users real-time insight into machine status, making it possible to react quickly in case of faults. The software helps to avoid unnecessary downtime and bottlenecks while improving machine utilization and availability. Machine data is available on any tablet or smartphone with a web browser installed.

Heidenhain’s (Schaumburg, IL) StateMonitor software records, evaluates, and visualizes machine data to provide a real-time view of production status. Featuring  comprehensive machine data collection (MDC) and intelligent data analysis capabilities, the platform helps manufacturers optimize and bring greater transparency to operational processes.

The 1.3.0 upgrade connects CNC control and PC systems of any brand machine with a TNC control version starting from 2006 via four interfaces: Heidenhain DNC, OPC UA, MTConnect, and Modbus TCP. Depending on the interface and machine controls, information that StateMonitor can use includes the status of the operating mode, program, machine messages, and overrides.

All data resides on your company server, without any obligation to use the cloud. The software’s easy to install on a company network, enabling manufacturers to quickly become familiar with machine-data acquisition. Because the user owns the data, the user dictates the amount and types collected from various production facilities as well as the applications for evaluating the data.

  • New 1.3.0 StateMonitor enhancements and features include:
  • MaintenanceManager (option 6) allows for organization of maintenances and recording of their execution.
  • Signals (option 7) allows for the collection of machine-specific signals and their monitoring over any period of time.
  • A more powerful PostgreSQL database and unique IDs that enable a further reduction of access times to the collected data.
