Version 33 of BobCAD-CAM Inc.’s (Clearwater, FL) standalone CAD CAM software provides tools and technology CNC manufacturers need most to improve productivity and efficiency while staying competitive in the changing marketplace.
Advancements in tooling and toolpaths. It’s easier to customize the tool library with imported 3rd party tool lists. MachiningCloud is the first partnership to take advantage of the new XML import option for directly importing tools and tool assemblies from their online platform. V33 adds Barrel Mills to available tool types for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis toolpaths. 3D surface machining is faster with a new steep/shallow operation that calculates finishing toolpaths in a fraction of traditional 3D finishing toolpaths.
CNC measuring cycles. V33 adds Probing to its product family, supporting 41 cycles for tool setters and measuring cycles. Improve shop productivity by programming probe cycles from the CAM Tree. Geometry interaction with override makes it easy to customize probing cycles for tools, work offsets, and part features.
Hole machining automation. New automation tools speed up programming for holes. Machining features are automatically created based on a customizable set of rules found in the knowledge base. Hole Feature Recognition makes finding and programming hole cycles faster and easier.
Design environment. New features simplify workflow for 2D and 3D design. Better viewing with the addition of keyboard shortcuts and Views to Active UCS (user coordinate system). Easier moving of geometry with Align to Coordinate System feature and Faster hole design with Advanced Holes.
