The first industrial robot with digital motion modes, the next-generation KR Quantec from KUKA (Carpentersville, IL) offers high performance, maximum availability, and low total cost of ownership (TCO).
The robot features the largest payload/reach portfolio in the high-payload category and is designed to support virtually all markets, including the automotive, foundry, and medical. Protected against uncontrolled electrostatic charging or discharging, the robot also is equipped for the safe handling of sensitive electronic components.
Add-on digital motion modes optimize performance according to an application’s needs: Digital Mode for faster velocity and minimum cycle times, Path Mode for continuous path motion and increasing precision, and Performance Mode that delivers optimal operation in 98% of all areas of application.
With a mean time between failures (MTBF) of 400,000 operating hours and economical cabling and energy supply, the robot also optimizes lifecycle efficiency.
Streamlined contours, extended permissible ambient conditions, and an extremely small footprint ensure utmost flexibility in operation as well as in cell and system planning. The wide working range in front of and behind the robot improves accessibility in a wide variety of applications. The energy supply concept is set apart by its durability and optimized availability.
A foundry variant is available for forming, casting, and processing in wet and dusty environments at temperatures up to 131 degrees F (55 degrees C).
