“Before, we had to review data manually,” says Marposs Corp. Monitoring Solutions Product Manager Jorge Pena. “With C-THRU4.0 software, we can feed machine monitoring information through the company network configured to their needs and provide access to important data in real-time.”

C-THRU4.0 software from Marposs Corp. (Auburn Hills, MI) collects and processes data from multiple machine tools equipped with Marposs’ Artis machine monitoring systems via a central hub. Information is accessed remotely via an iPad, computer, or laptop and integrates with manufacturing execution system (MES) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software. Data can be used to analyze tool life and machine capability, make cost comparisons, and for alarm tracing and counts, profit and loss accounting, profitability analysis and more, all leading to enhanced productivity and profitability.

The software feeds real-time information from machine tools to a cloud-based network that can be accessed and used in a centralized or decentralized manner. This interconnectivity helps optimize everything from preventative maintenance, process stabilization, and quality assurance to resource planning. Production costs and quality are always transparent and traceable through statistical recording and evaluation of performance indicators.

To initiate C-THRU4.0, data collected from monitoring processes is coordinated with the customer’s cost and resource information to provide a dashboard that meets the customer’s needs. Any changes coming in from the customer side can be fed back to the machining center. This interconnectivity and data flow supports the move toward the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and Industry 4.0.
