Burr-Free Cutting of Stainless Steel Tubes
Tridex Technology’s CS1-E electrochemical machine cuts multiple tubes simultaneously. Long wheel life and fast, precise cuts make it essential for manufacturing products for the aerospace, automotive, energy, and medical markets.

Many manufacturers cut tubes one at a time using cold saws or standard abrasive cutting saws that leave burrs and metal chips that must be removed in a secondary process of wire brushing and tumbling. The CS1-E electrochemical grinding (ECG) cutoff machine from Tridex Technology (Philadelphia, PA) eliminates secondary operations by simultaneously cutting multiple tubes that are free of burrs, metal chips, stress, and mechanical distortions.
Made of stainless steel, the machine resists corrosion and debris, and provides for simple maintenance. A filter system cleans the electrolyte fluid to minimize post-process part cleaning. The CS1-E can be configured as right- or left-handed so one operator can run multiple machines at once.
To provide a safe work environment, electronic interlocks are used on the front splash guard doors and feed system. Safety-rated servos and pneumatics are also used. The integrated safety features enable the machine to meet CE and ISO 13849 machine safety standards.
Tridex was acquired by Glebar Co. in 2020.
