The standard external collet chuck system from Speedgrip Chuck Company (Elkhart, IN) represents the most versatile chuck on the market. The chucking system can be used in many first operations and will prove to be ideal for second and subsequent operations, significantly outperforming conventional jaw chucks for precision and productivity.

The standard external collet chuck combines the benefits of high-precision workholding with in-stock availability. Users can quickly tool up an existing machine or commission a new machine by selecting the appropriate components and sizing them to accommodate the parts being machined.

The standard external collet chuck has a stir-in feature and will repeat within 0.0005 T.I.R. in most applications. The chuck mounts to the spindle using one of the interchangeable adapters for any American standard A-5, A-6, A-8, or A-11 spindle. Adapters to accommodate other spindles and machining centers are available.
