transfluid Maschinenbau (Schmallenberg, Germany), which produces tube bending and tube processing machines, has established a subsidiary in Greenville, S.C. Approximately 9,700 square feet in size, the modern building has offices, a warehouse with spare parts and a showroom.
“The U.S. is a very important market for transfluid,” says the company’s sales and marketing director, Stefanie Flaeper. “In February we have founded a company here in Greenville so we can find solutions even faster and that are better for our customers in this market. Once we had found the right building we were ready to start.“
Some staff at the new location have been involved with the technology company for decades and specialize in sales and services activities including aftersales. The team has supplemented their knowhow from the original factory in Schmallenberg with intensive product and service training.
Jeff Gilchrist, who was chosen to join the Greenville team, travelled to Germany to be trained.
“My time in Schmallenberg was very interesting,” says Gilchrist. “I have learned so much and I know that I can now find the best solutions here for customers in Greenville.” In Schmallenberg, he gained insight into the latest software and mechanical developments and strengthened existing relationships with his colleagues in Germany.
“The constant exchanges of idea between employees in the U.S. and in Germany contributes to the success of our new subsidiary,” says Flaeper.
With its skilled workforce and the modern premises, transfluid is now in a much better position to serve its customers in the US and will continue to invest in this site.
