Weldcote, (Kings Mountain, NC) a division of Zika Group, offers a comprehensive line of surface conditioning products, including unitized right angle grinder wheels, Stripit wheels, surface preparation wheels and premium, nonwoven industrial hand pads.

Unitized Right Angle Grinder Wheels are available in 4 ½ in to 5 in sizes, in both silicon carbide and aluminum oxide versions. The Type 27 wheels feature a unitized material on a firm, phenolic backing and are offered in a variety of finishes. Its finest silicon carbide finish (2/S/Fine) is ideal for heat sensitive materials; its fine silicon carbide finish (3/S/Fine) is ideal for all metal materials; and its medium aluminum oxide finishes (2/A/Medium and 6/A/Medium) are ideal for deburring, finishing and polishing on all metals. To work in hard-to-reach areas, Weldcote offers its unitized quick-change, roll-on wheels in 2- and 3-inch sizes, also in fine and medium finishes.

Stripit Wheels are available in 4 ½ in, 5 in, and 7 in sizes, in Type 27, both in black and red silicon carbide. A quick-change, roll-on disc is available, also in both black and red silicon carbide, in 2 in and 3 in sizes. Available 10 to a carton, Stripit wheels are excellent for use on stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, nonferrous metals and fiberglass. They can be used for cleaning welds and fast removal of rust, scaling, oxidation, paints and sealants.

Surface Preparation Wheels are available 10 to a carton in 4 in, 4 ½ in, and 7 in sizes, in Type 27 with a compact backing that minimizes workpiece scratches. The surface preparation wheels are available in a fine, aluminum oxide, maroon-colored version that is ideal for cleaning, blending and finishing stainless steel, and a very fine, silicon carbide, gray-colored version that is ideal for light finishes on metal, wood composites and satin finishing on aluminum. Roll-on versions of each are available in 2- and 3-inch sizes.

The line also includes surface conditioning aluminum oxide discs with a hole that is available in 4 ½ in and 5 in sizes. The disc is constructed of a nonwoven fiber that is impregnated with the abrasive grain for fast material removal and can be used on a variety of materials including steel, stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, alloys, fiberglass and plastic.

Premium, Nonwoven Hand Pads are strong, yet flexible 6 in x 9 in industrial pads designed for surface preparation. Available 10 to a carton, the premium hand pads are color coded to reflect their grain finish and grit. Ranging from ultra-fine to medium, the hand pads can be used for fine finishing and surface preparation to rust removal and heavy cleaning.

“Whatever surface our customers need to finish, Weldcote has a solution,” says Joe O’Mera, CEO of Weldcote. “From cleaning welds and removing rust, scaling, oxidation, paints and sealants from a variety of metals to blending and satin finishing on aluminum, our line is comprehensive.”
