Configure a New Application for Your Horizontal Machining Center

KME CNC 5-axis tombstones and trunnions and 4- or 5-axis rotary tables turn 3- axis and 4-axis machining centers into 5-axis production machines. The wireless KME TS630 tombstone transforms horizontal machining centers (HMC) into 5-axis machines that operate lights-out for eight hours at a time.

KME CNC 5-Axis Systems’ TS630 wireless tombstone’s 24-inch mounting plate and 1-0 offset column allow 12-inch parts to be securely machined via a motor that provides 750 foot-pounds of workholding torque. The 1,020-pound tombstone provides up to eight hours of machine time per charge.

The TS630 wireless tombstone from KME CNC 5-Axis Systems (Irvine, CA) turns a 3-axis horizontal machining center (HMC) with 24.8-inch (630-mm) pallet into a 5-axis production machine.

Platters are built right into the precision-ground, meehanite cast iron tombstone and extend a couple inches from the face, taking up less space in the HMC’s work zone than a surface-mounted indexer. Standard models come with four independent 5-axis platters on one side or two platters on both sides of the tombstone.

Like the company’s other tombstones, trunnions, and rotary indexes, the plug-and-play accessory doesn’t require separate programming because it integrates directly with any CNC machine’s existing control system via G-code.

Ideal for single machine or pallet pool use, the tombstone’s wireless system is driven by power cells that last up to eight hours per charge. It has its own radio frequency (RF) address that, if used in multiple-tombstone applications such as pallet racking, that identifies it to the system’s transmitter/receiver module (TRM) when entering the machine envelope.
