Cloud-Based Cutting Tool Configurator Saves Time and Money
MachiningCloud fast-tracks a shop’s entire workflow by providing direct access to tooling data and speed-and-feed recommendations that can be read directly into CAM and simulation programs. In addition to enabling users to quickly configure the right tool for a job, the platform provides pricing and availability.

Developed by Machining Cloud GmbH (Stans, Switzerland), Machining Cloud is a cloud-based application for identifying, configuring, and if, necessary, buying the components necessary to create the right tooling assembly for a job.
The platform enables users to quickly build and optimize assemblies using a constantly updated library of body, adaptor, holder, insert, and other product specifications. Users can download 3D models and 2D drawings and export data to computer aided manufacturing (CAM), simulation, and tool management software.
The configurator recommends products with that best fit and functionality for a job. Users have access to numerous analytical tools to manage processes and optimize specific cutting applications as well as the ability to easily order the necessary components.
“Manufacturers may not know there are ways to complete a job that could cut 20% to 30% from their machining time,” says MachiningCloud Project Manager Michael Taesch. “With the platform capable of making multiple suggestions over the course of multiple jobs, the time-saving advantage can be enormous.”
MachiningCloud supports Microsoft Windows 7 and 8, as well as Windows tablets, Android tablets and iPad.
