Space-Saving Compact Air Filtration System

Lincoln Electric (Cleveland, OH) adds the Compact to its Prism line of air filtration systems for welding and cutting applications. Suitable for stick, TIG, MIG, FCAW, plasma cutting, arc gouging, grinding (except aluminum, magnesium, or other materials which may produce explosive dust), the fume- extraction system was developed for cutting tables, robotic cells, and other applications that require an extraction hood.

The Prism Compact incorporates the Prism line’s space-saving vertical filter technology. Available in indoor and outdoor configurations, the short unit fits  comfortably and efficiently into tight spaces. A silencer and sound-deadening materials dramatically reduce airflow noise.

Smart Connect technology produces quick and seamless wire connections. The circuitry enables the operator to connect a variety of functions: power, compressed air and duct sensor for fan speed control. The variable frequency drive (VFD) adjusts fan speed and extraction airflow to the volume of air moving through the system in a given application. Intelligent fan control maximizes fume extraction, conserves energy, and extends equipment life.

The unit ships without a pallet and assembles without the need for a crane. Slotted leg base allows for easy transportation and loading on and off a trailer.

Maintenance is simple. The unit’s automatic cleaning process is initiated once the pre-set pressure differential has been reached. The vertical filter allows for easier and more efficient cleaning, with particulate matter collected in a 20-gallon dustbin.

UL-listed and FM-approved thermal suppression system and spark arrestor are optional, but highly recommended for applications that include oily or stamped parts.
