The Dyna-Press Pro 40-ton electric press brake that’s the heart of LVD Strippit’s robotic (Akron, NY)  Dyna-Cell is available with an optional Easy-Form Laser in-process adaptive bending system that ensures the desired angle from the first bending operation. Combined with an automatic programming wizard, the two features enable the cell to bend small- to medium-sized parts at 1 in (25 mm) per sec.

LVD’s 10-10 rule provides a fast Art-to-Part process with 10 minutes for CAM generation of the bending and robot program and 10 minutes for setup and first-part production.

With the programming wizard, CAM program preparation of the press brake and Kuka robot is done offline. Not having to physically teach the robot greatly reduces setup time. After importing the 3D drawing, the software automatically generates the bending and robotics program, calculating a collision-free path through all positions and providing easy programming of standard product families such as multiflange, brackets, and profiles. The software directs the robot’s movement from one bend to the next to form and then offload or stack the part.

Easy-Form Laser ensures the first bend is accurate every time. The system  transmits the digital information in real time to the CNC control unit, which processes it and immediately adjusts ram/punch position to achieve the correct angle. The bending process isn’t interrupted and no production time is lost. The  technology allows the machine to adapt to material variations including sheet thickness, strain hardening, and grain direction by automatically compensating for any changes.

Designed to work in automated bending mode or as a standalone press brake, the  compact Dyna-Cell is versatile and economical for a wide scope of bending operations. A universal gripper that handles parts from 1.38 in x 3.94 in (35 mm x 100 mm) to 13.78 in x 19.69 in (350 mm x 500 mm) and 6.6 lb (3 kg) lowers costs by eliminating the need for different-sized grippers and speeds production by reducing changeover time. The cell’s footprint is 16 feet by 16 feet (5 meters by 5 meters).
