Car makers enable customization by offering a standard model in various editions and a wide range of options. Bystronic Inc. (Elgin, IL) followed this principle when developing the Xpert Pro press brake, which is available in three models and a range of optional accessories.

The Classic model is ideal for job shops with small batch sizes or for prototype builders. With the Performance model, medium-sized companies can produce larger series quickly and reliably. And with bending speeds of ¾-inch per second, the Dynamic model is ideal for companies that must process batch sizes of 1,000 pieces and more.

The modular concept enables the press brake to be quickly and easily adapted to production requirements. The exchange of individual modules – for example, the backgauge – is  straightforward, and all optional equipment can be easily retrofitted at any time. The clamping system accepts tools from suppliers other than Bystronic, eliminating compatibility problems.

The machine achieves precise and consistent bending results from the first part thanks to dynamic crowning, which automatically adjusts lower beam curvature during bending and reacts to part bend length, material characteristics, and part position on the table. Optional LAMS angle-measuring system compensates for varying material characteristics and rolling grain direction variations.

ByVision Bending software eliminates tedious manual corrections and operator’s programming workload by determining the ideal bending process for every material thickness and bending angle.

Materials up to 5/8-inch thick are effortlessly bent with capacities ranging from 110 tons to 350 tons. Two bending lengths: 10 feet or 13 feet.
