American Weldquip (Sharon Center, OH) adds the Breath-Clean powered air-purifying respirator (PAPR) helmet to its weld fume-management lineup. The respiratory system provides a supply of filtered air via a breathing tube to a welding headpiece, and can be used in environments that require a breathing protection device with TH2P particulate filtering cartridge.
Supplied with two eight-hour lithium-ion rechargeable batteries, the CE-certified helmet features adjustable three-level airflow control (170 lpm, 200 lpm, and 230 lpm), low-battery and low-airflow warnings, large (3.25 in x 4 in) automatic darkening filter (ADF) lens, adjustable weld shade (from #3 to #13), a grind selection function, and sensitivity and delay controls.
The helmet comes with a quick-release padded belt and shoulder straps, and weighs 5.3 lb (2.4 kg).
