Multiblanking System Combines Work Steps in a Single Run

b+s group combines cut-to-length and slitting lines at a speed of up to 100 m/min. The time-saving process also incorporates inspection measures that make this sheet metal processing suitable for sensitive surfaces like stainless steel and aluminum strips.

b+s group multiblanking lines combine a cut-to-length line with a slitting line, saving time by enabling several work steps in one line.
Several precise and individual sheet metal blanks can be produced in one run with b+s group’s multiblanking system.
Addressing the stacking and packaging area challenges created by large numbers of sheet metal blanks and their small dimensions, b+s group offers various stacking techniques such as a vacuum, magnetic tape, or swing arm stacker.

Multiblanking systems from b+s group (Wheaton, IL) combine sheet metal processing steps associated with separate cut-to-length and slitting lines into a single run. Even changing cut sizes can be carried out efficiently and at high quality without additional logistics costs. Up to five strips can be cut lengthwise at a speed of up to 100 m/min with plug-in limits of over 1,000 N/mm² and material strengths of over 1,500 N/mm².

The multiblanking lines are designed for sheets up to 2,500 mm wide and 0.1 mm to 6.0 mm thick.

Thanks to inspection measures, the multiblanking systems are well suited to sensitive surfaces such as stainless steel and aluminum strips, which are used in metal components for white goods or in architecture for decorative elements.

Before the first cut, the coil is first leveled and then cut into longitudinal strips, which are then cut crosswise, resulting in up to five sheet blanks per segment in the desired length.

Because large numbers of sheet blanks with small dimensions can create stacking and packaging area challenges, b+s group has focused on different stacking techniques, including a vacuum, magnetic tape, or swing arm stacker.

To meet quality requirements, each multiblanking system is customized for individual applications; design is chiefly driven by the material data.
