Energy-Efficient Hydraulic Press Brakes

Touted as the “E-standard of the future” for heavy-duty hydraulic press brakes, SafanDarley’s H-Brakes hydraulic press brakes range from 175 tons to 1250 tons in capacity and provide bending lengths from 3,100 mm to 6,220 mm.

Miro Manufacturing Inc. of Waukesha, Wis., bought a 360-ton SafanDarley H-Brake HD 600T Ultra to expand its ability to provide complete fabrications, from laser and waterjet cutting through forming and welding. The machine is one of the most accurate high-tonnage press brakes in southeastern Wisconsin.

With energy-saving features that lower operational costs and flexible configuration options, the newest-generation H-Brake line of hydraulic press brakes from SafanDarley North America LLC (Waukesha, WI) are designed to bring efficiency, ecology, ergonomics, and economy to the heavy-duty market.

The Y1/Y2, X, and R axes are CNC-powered; Z1 and Z2 axes are controlled manually. Two control options are available: Delem DA 66T 2D or E-Control EC20 controls.

Wila NSCL-II premium top tool adaptor features mechanical clamping that handles a maximum load of 84 tons per foot top-bearing and 100.8 tons per foot shoulder-bearing and CNC deep-hardened tool clamping.

The E-Bend L Blue angle-measurement system maximizes accuracy and efficiency with two blue lasers that constantly monitor and adjust the machine to guarantee a final product of the highest precision. Combined with an integrated operator safety system, these features allow for a faster bending process, shorter production time, and lower costs.

Electrically powered CNC table aids handling and forming sheet goods and large parts. Start/Stop feature automatically switches off the main motor when the machine is running in idle, minimizing energy consumption and reducing CO2 emissions.

Modular backgauge ensures a high level of flexibility and, depending on model, can be upgraded.

Machines provide 175 tons to 1,250 tons of pressing force. Bending lengths vary from 3,100 mm to 6,220 mm.
