Power Skiving and Gear Shaping in One Machine
A hydraulic chuck combined with a changeable back stop and slotted collet, the Mytec Hydraclamp paves the way for power skiving by enabling users to clamp different diameters and components with one hydraulic chuck.

It’s long been recognized that skiving would be a much more productive process than shaping for cutting many internal gears. Fortunately, advances in skiving technology have improved the speed and effectiveness of this gear-making process, making it a more viable manufacturing option.
Mytec Hydraclamp tools from Euro-Tech Corp. (Menomonee Falls, WI) are robust and rigid enough to minimize vibrations caused by the high spindle rpms and significant cutting forces generated by power skiving: the continuous cutting process that enables machining to be carried out in a single setup, shortening production time, improving quality, and lowering handling and logistics costs.
Today’s demands also include clamping very thin parts for the robotic gear boxes (flex spline gear box). The Mytec Hydraclamp clamps even irregularly shaped components the entire length of the clamping area to achieve the highest accuracy (see graphic). Note that the external shape is irregular and the clamping area is very short. A hydraulic chuck in combination with a changeable back stop and slotted collet allows users to clamp different diameters and components with one hydraulic chuck.
Euro-Tech Corp. is the exclusive North American distributor of the Mytec Hydraclamp product line.
