Tube-Sawing System with Automatic Changeover

BLM Group USA’s (Novi, MI) TS72 universal cold sawing CNC system for cutting tubes, bars, and profiles features an axis-control function that enables automated changeover for nonstop, unattended production. Particularly well-suited to small batch sizes, all adjustments and cutting parameters – material, blade type, and tube dimensions – are automatic to eliminate downtime.

The TS72 can process tubes up to 4 in (102 mm) outer diameter and parts up to 177 in (4500 mm) long. Round, rectangular, flat-oval, and other shapes load without special equipment. Four lengths can be cut from each bar and each unloaded to a different discharge position. The saw automatically positions different-length parts on the bar to maximize material utilization.

The machine’s touch screen monitor guides the operator through the few steps needed to start production. Optimized blade advancement profiles are stored in the CNC and automatically selected based on material type and blade.

After sawing, the ends of parts can be brush-deburred internally and externally, and an air jet effectively cleans the inside of each tube. The entire production may also be measured and certified.

Options include an automatic system that washes and dries the inside and outside of each tube and part, and a bundle-style belt collector to speed up finished part packing.
