With a washout rating of less than 3%, Dillon Manufacturing’s (Springfield, OH) HPG500 is one of the most water-resistant boundary lubricants available. Use the National Lubricating Grease Institute (NLGI) Grade 2 formulation in bearings, bushings, slides, pivots, tracks, etc., to prevent metal-to-metal contact under high loads and slow speeds for high-end manual chucks or power chucks.
HPG500 doesn’t contain heavy metals or compounds with antimony, barium, chlorine, lead, phenols, or phosphorus. Unlike lubricants that contain lithium, the lithium-free formulation doesn’t cause buildup on the chuck’s internal workings in the presence of water-based coolants. Resists rust and corrosion in synthetic and oil-based coolant environments, and is safe to use in machining centers that require EPI grease.
