Pre-engineered robotic welding production cells from Daihen, Inc. (Tipp City, OH) include:
- A versatile TRI-ARC 1000 cell with dual FD-V8 welding robots and WELBEE WB-P500L welding power sources for welding mild steel. The TRI-ARC 1000 is a three-axis, servo-controlled positioning cell offering dual head and tailstock positioning stations and a primary rotational axis to present each station to the robot. Its heavy-duty design accommodates large components up to 3,500 mm long and requires less floor space use while allowing single load and unload points for minimal operator movement during operation. The arc welding robots provide a wide working range with independently articulated arms, improved vibration restraining control for smooth robot movement, a built-in mechanical shock sensor and seamless digital connection with all Daihen-brand welding power supplies
- A custom LT-ARC two-station cell with a 24 ft long slider, FD-V8L welding robot and WELBEE WB-P400 welding power source for aluminum welding. This cell includes a SERVO-ARC 720B turntable and a 500 kg headstock/tailstock positioner, with automated material handling provided by an FD-V25 robot.
- A DT-ARC 500 cell with an FD-B6L welding robot and exclusive ultra-low spatter Synchro-feed welding technology for mild steel welding with virtually no post-weld clean up required. Synchro-feed technology delivers very low heat input using a combination of servo-controlled wire feeding and welding waveform performing a PulseDip™ transfer welding process: A servo-driven wire feeder within the torch body advances the welding wire forward to create an arc, then very precisely retracts the wire while synchronizing with a specialized weld current waveform that extinguishes the arc to create consistent droplet transfer with virtually zero weld spatter. This results in a very neat, precise weld laid down at a rate up to 100 ipm using a weld current up to 300 amps.
- An ECO-ARC 200 cell with an FD-V8 welding robot, WELBEE WB-A350P TIG welding power source and new servo-pull cold wire feeder for TIG welding.

More fabricators are using larger-diameter grinding wheels and flap discs for their grinding, material removal, and blending applications instead of 4.5-inch options — and with good reason.
