Toshiba Machine Becomes Shibaura Machine
TM Robotics will continue to supply their robots in North and South America, EMEA and Australia.

Toshiba Machine Co. Ltd. (Numazu, Japan) will change their corporate name to Shibaura Machine Co. Ltd. on April 1, 2020. TM Robotics, Inc. (Elk Grove Village, IL) the official distributor of Toshiba Machine robots for North and South America, EMEA and Australia, will continue to supply the company’s extensive range of six-axis, SCARA and Cartesian robots through their global distributor network – same robots, new name. Returning to their original name – the company was initially founded as Shibaura Machine Tool Co. in 1938 – Toshiba Machine’s name change will reflect their formal separation from the larger Toshiba Corporation in 2017. While they may be moving away from the name, Toshiba Machine aims for a seamless transition with no impact to business, customers or shareholders.
