Two shelf-mounted six-axis robotic arms from the Motoman Robotics Division of Yaskawa America Inc. (Dayton, OH) improve quality while saving on valuable workspace. Designed for demanding press room environments, the PH130RF and PH200RF feature long-life speed reducers to facilitate highly repetitive handling operations and high-performance drive systems on the S-, L- and U-axes (axes 1, 2 and 3) for high duty cycle and durability. High moment and inertia ratings enable both models to handle large blanks as well as formed parts. Shelf mounting enlarges work envelope and eases die change-out while providing flexibility for custom layouts. Their long reach enables the robots to work in tight spaces and service multiple presses. Exceptionally fast axis speeds and acceleration capabilities reduce cycle time and increase production output.
Both are controlled by the YRC1000 controller, which is built to a global standard that doesn’t require a transformer for input voltages ranging from 380VAC to 480VAC. Measuring 598 mm W x 490 mm H x 427 mm D, this controller also reduces space requirements. One cable connects the manipulator to the controller, easing installation and lowering maintenance expenses and spare parts inventory. Both models have an IP67-rated wrist and an IP30 body.
